Preparing Your ADT for Transport

Proper preparation reduces loading time and protects your machine during transit:

• Empty the bowl: All material must be removed from the dump body before loading. Residual mud or rock adds unexpected weight and can shift during transport.
• Lower the dump body: The body should be in the fully lowered and locked position. Raised or partially raised bodies significantly increase transport height.
• Secure the tailgate: Lock or pin the tailgate so it cannot open during transit. Unsecured tailgates can swing open and create serious road hazards.
• Retract or remove mirrors: Fold or remove extended mirrors that would add to transport width.
• Disable pivot lock if equipped: Some ADTs have a pivot lock for transport — engage it per the manufacturer's specifications to stabilize the frame articulation on the trailer.
• Fuel level: Keep fuel at a practical minimum — diesel is heavy, and a full tank adds several hundred pounds of unnecessary weight on a machine already pushing permit thresholds.
• Tie-down points: Know where the designated chain and binder attachment points are on your specific machine. We'll chain to the approved points, not to hydraulic lines or articulation components.
